Sport: Kite Surfing
My folks moved to the isle of wight when i was about 4 and that's pretty much when my obsession with getting on the water started. Windsurfed since i was 7, and took the amateur national wavesailing title in 2000. The island really is a prime spot for wavesailing and surfing, so when kitesurfing came along five years ago it was an obvious progression for me. I competed in the national pro fleet for three years coming in the top ten. It's only recently that wave kiting has really taken off, but it's always been my favourite discipline. To be honest i could live without twintips now, and i'll leave the handlepasses to Lewis! (except off-the-lip!) I had dropped out of the contest circuit, but now wave events are starting to feature, maybe a come-back is in order!!

Favourite spot: anywhere with waves and wind, but recently Sumbawa and Barbados. No-one believes me but the island really does get classic down-the-line conditions on a good day!
Kit: The new Type Wave is amazing and does everything you ask it so you won't find me on anything else. Tend to change between my 5'8'' custom thruster, and a 4'11 'wave-off' depending on the wind.
2006? Currently planning a series of wave kiting coaching sessions, both in the uk then abroad. Compete in the BKSA and KBBT wave series. Check out as many mental wave spots as possible!!
