Scariest moment: Seeing sharks at Gnaraloo whilst spearfishing!

2008 - This is now my second full year as an sSs teamrider and I've moved over to Western Oz partly as a career move and also for some famous West Oz windsurfing. I have been over here sin ce August and so far have sailed all the usual suspects to the North of Perth and am still waiting for the wind to kick in consistently down South. So far I have been working pretty hard which has made a dent in the amount of windsurfing I have been able to do but I have still had a couple of great trips to Gnaraloo and Geraldton. My initial impressions of the place are good, although I have to be honest an epic day over here hasn't quite matched anything I had last year in Ireland or Cornwall, so before you sit there thinking that some people have all the luck just realise how amazing the UK is to sail. Don't get me wrong, sailing in Boardies/Rashy and having consistent wind is great but the swell and wind direction so far have been disappointing. We'll see what the rest of the 2008 year has to offer.

I plan on writing a series of guides about various spots around the West Ozzy coastline as and when I get some decent photos on location. If anyone wants advice on anything though I'm always happy to reply to an email or skype message. I've sailed most places so can offer advice on equipment/travel/accomodation etc. I'm also always looking for an excuse to go sailing so look me up if you make it this way.

Plans for 2008 - Nail the f!@£$ing flaka - there have been too many crashes in that department and it looks soooo easy! Also to improve on moves already learnt and to improve my wave sailing. The kit this year looks like it'll do that for me without thinking anyway!
