The new RRD Twin Tip: First Team Rider Review
11th Sep 2009 @ 10:21:41 AM
sSs Team Rider, Adam Simds, went straight from his success at the National Windsurfing Festival to collect his new RRD Twin Tip Freestyle board which had just arrived from the factory.
Here are Adam's first impressions: ''I picked up my new 2010 100l TT today and got out for a blast for half an hour or so, with my 5.0 Ezzy Freewave, as the sun was setting.
First impressions: in the words of a true freestyler - sick!
It really is an awesome board and that's after just 30 minutes testing... It seems quicker and most importantly it gets up as early as last years board but stays on the plane for that little bit longer, giving you just a bit more time in those lighter winds to get your move in as I found this out as the wind dropped on my last couple of runs.
During the rest of the time I was just powered up enough but not fully powered and this allowed me to test it for the bigger moves; konos, air funnels and shakas to see if they could work when the board wasn't going as fast as it should for these moves. Although these moves tend to be more full power moves I managed to land some clean ones (if I may say so myself...).
I'll try out some double moves and get back to you on that as the research and development guys say that that is one of the improvements from last year. Cheers'' |
